DR. TOM CULINA

 

Dr. Tom Culina, or “Tom” as many of his patients know him as, was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie. He earned his Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Waterloo in 1995 before completing his Doctor of Optometry degree at the Indiana University School of Optometry in 1999.

Tom is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and is certified by the Ministry of Health and the College of Optometrists of Ontario to prescribe ocular therapeutic medications.

He has also played an important role in the community, serving as the Vision Training Leader for the Sault Ste. Marie Lions Club School Screening Program following its reintroduction in 2008, helping support children’s vision care throughout the region.

 

DR. PENNY KIN

 

Dr. Penny Kin had been practicing in Southern Ontario since graduating from the New England College of Optometry in 2003. In the spring of 2022, she and her husband, along with their four children, took a leap of faith and made the move to Sault Ste. Marie.

Dr. Kin brings many years of experience in comprehensive eye care, including performing detailed eye exams and treating, managing, and co-managing ocular disease. She has also recently expanded her expertise in Visual Skills Assessment and Vision Therapy.

Shortly after joining the practice, Dr. Kin stepped into the role of Vision Training Leader for the Sault Ste. Marie Lions Club School Screening Program, continuing its long-standing impact on children’s eye health in the community.
